How To Protect Your Chickens From Poultry Predators By Installing Side-And-Top Fences

Farmers often have to deal with poultry predators that get into the chicken coop and attack them. These predators include foxes, raccoons, coyotes, dogs, and cats. While a few fences can help to protect chickens from these predators, the best way to do so is by installing side-and-top fences.

One of the best ways to protect your chickens from poultry predators is to install side-and-top fences. This will create a barrier that will make it difficult for predators to get to your chickens. Another benefit of installing side-and-top fences is that they can also help to keep your chickens from getting out of the coop and into areas where they could be preyed upon.

There are a few different ways to go about installing side-and-top fences, but one of the simplest is to use T-posts and chicken nets. First, drive the T-posts into the ground around the perimeter of your chicken coop or run. Make sure they are at least four feet tall so that predators will not be able to simply jump over them.

Next, attach chicken nets to the T-posts, making sure that it is tight and secure. The chicken wire should extend at least three feet above the ground and be buried at least six inches below the surface to prevent digging predators from getting in.

Once your fence is installed, be sure to check it regularly for any holes or gaps that may have developed. Predators are always looking for an easy meal, so it's important to make sure your chickens are well-protected.
